The History of Media (The Beginning-1950 A.D.)

Invention of the Modern Guitar The form of the modern classical guitar was created by the Spanish guitar maker Antonio Torres in 1850.  Torres increased the size of the guitar body, altered its proportions, and invented the fan top bracing pattern.  This improved the volume, tone and projection of sound from the guitar and continues to be played today.  Steel strings and electric guitars are among some of the changes to the guitar over time, but essentially the shape of the guitar has been unchanged.  A form of the guitar can be traced back for centuries, however the altering of the shape changed the world of music forever.
