The History of Media (The Beginning-1950 A.D.)

First Musical Instrument

Picture

Discovered in the Hohle Fels cave in Germany's Swabian Alps in 2008, this flute is not only the oldest undisputed musical instrument ever found, it consistutes the first evidence of humans being engaged in musical culture.
The flute is made from a vulture's wing bone perforated with five finger holes, and dates to approximately 35,000 years ago.
The team that found the flute said, "music may have helped to maintain bonds between larger groups of humans, and that this may have helped the species to expand both in numbers and in geographical range."

This was the begining of music, one of the original forms of media, as through words, lyrics and the images of bands/artists, people can communicate and find identity. Music performances and concerts, of all different types, are also a form of interaction and a place where people come together, talk and share an experience.
